Opponauts, do you have any suggestions for shipping quotes, shipping info, etc for shipping a car part from NJ to Austria? I’m going to wander over to USPS and see what they can give me but thought I’d ask the resident experts first.

Just a guess, but you will probably see cheaper rates through UPS, FEDEX, or DHL depending on the part size.

It depends on a lot of things, but size and weight are the biggest factors.

Sorry, the part is roughly 4 pounds. And the box should be like 10x10x5. I’ll know the exact dimensions when I get home but just wanted to see if there was a favorite sender.

A small box will definitely be much cheaper through USPS. You can make labels online and then just drop off at the post office. You'll save a few bucks paying online as well. I've done this lots of times for a place I used to work.

Carry on luggage + free trip to Australia.
Then you'd have to explain its a car part not a bomb, and you'd eventually want to come back. Bad idea.

Don’t I need the customs form as well?

It should prompt you to fill something out on USPS’s website. It is pretty straight forward.

Ken and iSureWilll have it. USPS should work well with a part that size and weight.
